Adur District Council have confirmed in a press release today, that we have been successful in securing c. £200,000 for 106 money from the Hyde development at Ropetackle North to be ‘used to secure improvements for school.’
We’re delighted to have helped secure this money for Swiss Gardens to help them enhance the children’s play space that has been put under such pressure due to recent unplanned bulge year.
The school are very keen to enhance the communal play space and develop environmental areas, to help them maintain the nurturing, creative learning environment they are known for. With this money, we hope that they can go some way in achieving that.
The goal of FAST (Future of Adur Schools Team) is to see appropriate, long-term planning of school place provision in Adur, and ensure all operate at a safe and appropriate level of capacity and facilities.
We see this process as being a brilliant example how when parents, the school, private developers and the council work together, great things can be achieved. We hope this is a model that can be applied elsewhere to help offset the impact of a rising school population in this area.
We have no more details than this at this time. And exactly how the money is used we leave to the school and the governors to determine.
Thank your everybody for your support to date.
