The Future Of Adur Schools. Public Meeting. 3.04.17

If you missed the event, the presentation we shared is below:

A public meeting for parents by parents about school provision

What is it about?

Many parents are struggling to get their children into first choice or even appropriate secondary schools.

There have also been many issues over the provision of primary school places in Shoreham, Southwick and Lancing, (Adur).

Future of Adur School Team, (FAST), is a group of concerned parents. The goal of this group is to see appropriate long-term planning of school place provision in Adur, ensuring all operate at a safe and good level of capacity – including the opening of new schools.

We have had some success in improving the situation.

But would like other parents and schools to understand the issues, learn from our experiences, and hopefully help them to act.

Questions we will try to answer

– Why does there appear to be such pressure on school places in Adur?
– What can you do about it?.

We’ll also share the story of Swiss Gardens – how parents faced this problem, what they did about it, and what were the results.

And we will hopefully put together a panel of decision makers for a Q&A.

When is it?

3 April at 20:00–21:30

Where is it?

The Shoreham Centre, Pond Road, Shoreham

Suggested minimum £1 contribution on the door to help cover venue hire costs, website hosting etc
